Dutch terminal operator gets its first Liebherr crane
Rotterdam-based terminal operator Marcor has taken delivery of its first Liebherr LHM 800 crane at the Hartel terminal. The company landed its eagerly awaited mobile harbour crane onto shore from the multipurpose vessel MV Bravewind.
Marcor’s first Liebherr LHM 800e crane features a 64-metre reach and has a peak handling capacity of 2,000 tons per hour. The company said its capabilities perfectly align with Marcor’s bulk, bagged and containerised stevedoring operations.
The crane is not only unique in its performance and capabilities. It is also the first of its kind to operate fully electrified. The delivery was handled by the freight forwarder UWL.
Marcor will work with Liebherr to commission the unit at the terminal in the coming period. The company will also add a second unit towards the end of this year.
