Dreamlifts will no longer be acting as a worldwide General Sales and Service Agent for Antonov Airlines as from 1st March 2020, a role the company has fulfilled since 2016. While renewing the contract, the companies were unable to reach “an acceptable agreement”, managing director Graham Witton of Dreamlifts says. 

Dreamlifts became the global agent for Antonov Airlines after the joint-venture agreement Antonov and Volga-Dnepr Airlines was terminated in December 2016. Based at London Stansted Airport, Dreamlifts subsequently opened a second office in Houston in 2017, to coordinate Antonov’s charter activities in the US.

“Since setting up Dreamlifts in 2016 and subsequently the US office, Antonov Airlines Inc, we have helped strengthen the Antonov Airlines brand globally and have been very proud in doing so. Therefore, this has been an extremely difficult decision. A number of our staff have been representing Antonov in the worldwide market since the establishment of the airline in 1989″, Witton comments.

The decision will affect both the UK office based in Stansted as well as the Dreamlifts’ US office in Houston, but any projects currently ongoing will not be affected, the company states.
