Jumbo Maritime, now part of the Jumbo-SAL-Alliance, has gone through another shift as its long standing CEO, Michael Kahn has decided to step down from his position. Kahn will be replaced by Wout Janssens. 

The company informed on Monday that after 30 years as CEO, Kahn has decided to take on a new responsibility as supervisory board director of the company. He now aims to contribute to the long-term strategy and success of Jumbo Shipping, Jumbo Offshore and Jumbo-SAL-Alliance.

The company has immediately found Kahn’s replacement within its own ranks, namely, the company’s COO Wout Janssens has been appointed the new CEO. Janssens served as COO for several years and has leadership experience in both heavy lift shipping and offshore installation, the statement reads.

With Janssens becoming the new CEO, Jumbo has also hired Jan Peter Breedeveld to fill the vacant COO position. Breedeveld has experience in offshore transport and installation. These new appointments, together with the restructured board became effective in the summer of 2021 and the transition of work and responsibilities is already well underway, Jumbo said.
