Bergen-headquartered breakbulk shipping major, G2 Ocean, has made a switch at the senior chartering position. Following Thomas Johansen’s decision to leave the company and pursue other opportunities, G2 Ocean promoted its business development manager, project cargo, Kent-Ove Jacobsen to the position of Senior Chartering Manager of the Europe – North America (EU/ENA) trade.

In his new role, Kent will be responsible for managing the activities in the EU/ENA trade, reporting to Christer Abrahamsen, Chartering Director. Having managed the EU/ENA trade in 2012 – 2016 and in 2019, Jacobsen brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise.

“I am excited to return to this very dynamic trade and work closely with our customers. I look forward to further developing and improving our services in this trade, and I will do my utmost to deliver on the expectations from our customers,” says Jacobsen.

He worked at Grieg Star and G2 Ocean for over 10 years. In 2019, he returned to Bergen to further develop the company’s project cargo services, after having spent three years at Vancouver office.

“Kent has been a major contributor to G2 Ocean’s growth and success, especially within the project cargo segment. Given his experience and ability to identify the right solutions for customers, we consider him a perfect fit for this role,” says Christer Abrahamsen, chartering director.
