In the early hours of February 24, Russia launched attacks on Ukraine, causing a number of companies to suspend operations in the region. DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is one of the companies that stopped all activity in the country until further notice, following Ukraine’s decision to declare martial law.

This shutdown of operations encompasses the entire Ukraine, including all offices in Ukraine, which have been closed indefinitely to avoid unnecessary risk and keep its employees safe, while the company continues to closely follow the situation.

DSV expects that the recent developments in Ukraine will give rise to significant operational and capacity challenges for the entire region, including Russia, and for all transport modes. The situation in Ukraine is considered force majeure, and it is already impacting DSV operations in other countries in the region as well.

For now, all air traffic to and from Ukraine has been stopped, and it is expected that other means of transportation will also be affected by the situation. Additionally, the trucking capacity for the region is being affected by tight border controls and Ukrainian nationals working as truck drivers or in other supply chain functions all over Europe are seeking to return home on immediate basis.

DSV noted that the its main priority currently is to ensure its employees are safe. All of the company’s employees have been asked to stay home, stay safe and follow instructions from local authorities.
