Philippe Barril will be stepping down as Chief Transition Officer (CTO) for SBM, and replacing Koos-Jan Brouwershaven as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Heerema Marine Contractors, as of September 1, 2022.

Philippe Barril has over 30 years of experience in the offshore industry, and has, in the past, worked for McDermott international, DeepOcean, Technip and Bouygues offshore, in addition to SBM Offshore.

Heerema’s Board of Directors will also be changing in terms of both structure and composition. These changes, which will take effect on August 1, 2022, are intended to help the company better address the challenges and opportunities in the industry, and in particular, matters relating to energy transition.

The new board of directors will consist of six Executive Board members and three Non-Executive members.

The six Executive Board members will be Philippe Barril as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Robbert Sloos as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Michel Hendriks as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Jeroen van Oosten as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Ramon de Haas as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Isolde Eleveld-Terwel as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

The three Non-Executive members will include Peter Huisman, currently interim CFO, Chairman Pieter Heerema, and Nico Pronk.
