The global logistics provider to the energy industries, Pentagon Freight Services, has purchased the United-Kingdom based Carlbom Shipping, the leading specialist ships agent on the Humber estuary, in Northern England. 

Pentagon, the world’s leading privately owned logistics provider to the energy industries, focuses on global forwarding, project logistics, material management, consultancy services and technology for the international oil and gas industry. The company is currently operating out of 66 locations globally. Carlbom Shipping, in operation since 1897, is in the tanker, bulk cargo, offshore and renewables sectors, in the UK and Europe, as well as internationally.

Carlbom’s prominent presence in the Humber region and its expertise in servicing offshore wind farms, combined with Pentagon’s international logistics network, will enable Pentagon to provide end-to-end ship agency services, and increase levels of coverage to clients, across the international maritime and logistics sectors.
