Over the past week there have been a number of new appointments, most notably Wallenius Wilhelmsen naming new new Chief Customer Officer, a. hartrodt Australia getting a new Managing Director and Bolloré Logistics appointing Nicolas Saignat as Vice-President Airfreight, Americas.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen picks new Chief Customer Officer

Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a RoRo shipping specialist has focused on its interaction with its clients and become an integrated part of the customers supply chain. To that regard, the company has recently appointed Pia Synnerman as its new Chief Customer Officer, with effect from January 1, 2023.

Synnerman joined Wallenius Wilhelmsen in 2021 as Head of Sales to EMEA. She came from Ericsson where she has held various sales and commercial roles. She has extensive commercial experience transforming organisations to meet increasing demands, execute new strategies and improve performance. She has nearly 20 years of experience from international sales, both in Sweden, Russia and South Africa.

Brian de Leeuw becomes new Managing Director of a. hartrodt Australia

From January 1, 2023, Brian de Leeuw will lead a. hartrodt Australia as Managing Director. The 48-year-old has been working for the international freight forwarder in multiple locations in Australia for more than two decades, most recently for four years as Chief Operating Officer.

In the course of a restructuring, he relieves Dirk Haarhaus, Regional Director Oceania at a. hartrodt in Sydney. “In the future, Dirk will be able to concentrate on our strategic positioning in the region, while I will be responsible for the day-to-day business of the national company,” explains Brian de Leeuw.

In Australia, a. hartrodt has 180 employees in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Bolloré Logistics bolsters its Americas Airfreight unit

Bolloré Logistics has added strength to its Airfreight unit in Americas with the naming of Nicolas Saignat as Vice-President Airfreight.

In this new role, Nicolas will oversee the development of air freight products, competitive procurement, and the digitalisation of solutions. He will work together with the sales and solutions teams to offer the company’s customers a reliable and sustainable transport offer. Nicolas is based in Calgary, Canada and will report directly to Alexandre Yamada, Vice-President Solutions of Bolloré Logistics Americas.

“I am certain that Nicolas will strengthen our product offering for air freight on the American continent. His perspective from the service provider side combined with his in-depth knowledge of the airline industry, gives him a definite advantage.
