
Appointments: fresh faces at Wilson ASA, GEODIS and Aero Africa
After a fairly busy last week, there was a bit of a down time in the appointments department with the likes of Wilson ASA, GEODIS and Aero Africa all bringing new people onboard.
Wilson ASA names new HR manager
Shortsea liner shipping company, Wilson ASA, has made a newest addition to its team with the appointment of Trude Torset to the position of HR Manager. It is a switch for Torset whose previous experience is within the fitness and airline industries. Shipping business can now be added to that list.

“My life motto is: Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to dance in the rain. In that regard I hope to contribute to the Wilson family with my previous experience. I look forward to getting to work with culture and people in such a large company, it can’t be anything other than an exciting adventure,” Torset said of her appointment.
GEODIS promotes Jesper Axell to managing director post in Sweden
GEODIS has dipped into its own ranks when searching for a new managing director of its Swedish organisation. Jesper Axell, who has served as deputy managing director of GEODIS Sweden since 2018, has now been promoted.

Axell joined GEODIS in 2006 and contributes an extensive knowledge and a strong business acumen derived from several management roles within GEODIS Sweden. The Swedish organisation has thrived under Jesper’s leadership and continues to show strong results. Axell has been a driving force in the re-launch of Contract Logistics in Sweden, developing GEODIS’ local footprint and further securing the company’s position as one of the market leading freight forwarders in Sweden
He will continue to report to the Scandinavian Sub-Regional managing director, Magnus Tornerhjelm.
Issa Baluch joins Aero Africa as an advisory board member
Aero Africa has turned to an experienced professional in Issa Baluch to joint the group as a member of its advisory board. Issa Baluch is credited with pioneering the sea/air multimodal transport via UAE into Africa and other regions and was Founder and CEO of Swift Freight International, which he headed from 1989 to 2008. He has also been heavily involved in GSSAs and cargo airlines in the region.
Baluch said, “I am delighted to join the energetic leadership of Aero Africa and to play a role in their strategic growth plans in the Middle East & Africa.“
