Allseas’ Pioneering Spirit, the largest construction vessel, has recently received its new jacket lift system built to install and remove entire jackets up to 20,000 tonnes in a single lift. The vessel itself has been a game-changer in offshore heavy lift since it started operations in 2016 with the removal of the 13,500-ton Yme production unit offshore Norway.

Equipped with unique motion compensated, single-lift technology, she can lift and transport entire platform topsides and offshore substations in one piece, significantly reducing the amount of offshore work, moving it onshore where it is safer, more cost effective and poses less environmental risk.

The jacket lift system that the vessel is being upgraded with eliminates the need for barges, offering greater capacity, stability and workability in hostile environments. Allseas has released the first video in a series that will show the journey from the inception of this new system to the installation onboard the Pioneering Spirit.

Allseas released its first video in the series earlier in November and has now followed the short documentary with the second installation.
