DEME gets in on Vattefall’s esterhav Syd and Nord project
DEME Offshore has been contracted to transport and install 41 foundations at Vattenfall’s Vesterhav Syd and Nord offshore wind farm in Denmark. Jack-up installation vessel ‘Innovation’ will be deployed on the project.
After having executed Vattenfall’s Ormonde, Kentish Flats and Horns Rev 3 wind farms, DEME has secured work for this project as well.
The contract comes only a week after Jan De Nul Group has been contracted to transport and install a total of 41 wind turbines of 8.4 MW each for the project. Jan De Nul’s scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, procurement and delivery of the Sea-Fastening.
Vesterhav Syd and Nord will have a total combined capacity of 344 MW and will meet the annual electricity needs of more than 350,000 Danish households. Both offshore wind farms are located in the Eastern part of the Danish North Sea. The Vesterhav Nord offshore wind farm is based west of the coast of Vejlbi, and the Vesterhav Syd offshore wind farm is located close to the Sondervig coast.
The two offshore wind farms are expected to be fully operational by the end of 2023.
