International steel contractor Bladt Industries was recently faced with a challenge of transporting three welding towers without having to disassemble them. Each unit weighed 15 tonnes and measured 14 metres in height.

The company reached out to Blue Water Shipping for the assignment of transporting the three welding towers from Aalborg to Lindø in Denmark. Blue Water Shipping tagged in its partner Baltic Shipping Company to transport the units on the Antonia B.

Antonia B is a 1.870 dwt coaster with an overall length of 81.09 metres, and is one of more than 40 coasters in the Baltic Shipping Company’s fleet. According to the vessel’s AIS data the transport has been completed during the latter part of the past month.

Bladt Industries will use the three welding towers at its production facility at the Lindø Industripark, a former shipyard with a total of 30,000 m2 of space spread across four workshops with facilities that are perfect for manufacturing large steel structures.
