Responding to the demands of modern construction sites, and focusing on faster assembly times and reduced space requirements, Liebherr has developed a new luffing jib crane, the 440 HC-L. The unit has been designed for easier installation in tight spaces.

The crane’s lifting capacity has also been increased, and it is available in two versions: the 440 HC-L 12/24 and the 18/36, increasing the lifting capacity for the latter from 32 to 36 tonnes.

The 440 HC-L incorporates innovative materials and technologies, such as aramid fibre guying, which reduces weight and improves lifting capacity. The crane’s electronic components are arranged in a plug-and-play setup, simplifying assembly and reducing downtime.

Liebherr also claims the crane’s assembly time has been significantly reduced thanks to pre-assembled components and a streamlined design. Additionally, the counter-jib ballast consists of a single block, further simplifying the installation process.

The 440 HC-L offers a maximum radius of 65 meters and a jib head lifting capacity of up to 52 per cent higher than its predecessor. The crane’s tower heights have also been increased, providing greater flexibility in site planning.
