BigMove orders 19 heavy load trailers from Scheuerle

PRESS RELEASE – The German heavy haulage network BigMove has ordered 19 EuroCompact heavy transport trailers from Scheuerle, each capable of carrying project cargoes up to 90 tonnes.

The EuroCompact low-bed semi-trailer can carry these loads while travelling at 80 km/h, using a three-axle tractor and 12-tonne axle load. Under the identifier, Chamäleon II, BigMove offers the fleet of vehicles to its customers.

Procurement was preceded by intensive collaboration between the manufacturer and customer in order to meet the requirements of BigMove.

The heavy load specialist will use the trailers, among other things, to transport large construction machinery. BigMove recently moved an 86-tonne rotary drilling rig from Mannheim to Munich where it will be used for construction in the so-called Marienhof, directly behind Munich’s famous Town Hall.

“In the fight for driving personnel, it is important that we have a vehicle that makes it easy for drivers to operate,” comments Horst Wallek, member of the management board at Wallek and Geser, a company that is part of the BigMove Group. “For us as a heavy-load logistics provider, it is of great importance that we are able to access the loading and unloading points when transporting increasingly larger and heavier construction machinery. The EuroCompact has an outstanding payload to deadweight ratio. This makes the task much easier for us.”
