Express Global Logistics (EXG) recently carried out a movement of overdimensional cargo from Dahej in India’s state of Gujarat to Barmer, Rajasthan. The delivery required detailed planning and coordination.

The project logistics provider transported two HP drums over a 600 kilometre distance. A cold separator drum with a length of 13.3 metres had a weight of 205 metric tons while the Hot HP separator drum with a length of 23.3 metres weighed in at 297 metric tons.

The company informed that non seasonal heavy rain posed a significant challenge. This resulted in unexpected road conditions which required civil work in several areas in Gujarat to make sure the cargo can be moved safely.

During the  journey the critical height of the cargo demanded the structure of a toll plaza be dismantled and redone to accommodate the movement of the cargo.
