Two evaporators have been taken on a journey across Finland through a route totalling 664 kilometres before embarking on their journey to Sweden and Uruguay. The road section of the journey was handled by the Finnish heavy haulage specialist, Silvasti.

The evaporators were loaded onto Silvasti’s trailers in Varkaus, from where they were transported to the Port of Mäntyluoto. From Mäntyluoto, the evaporators will continue their journey through waterways towards their final destinations.

The logistics chain of the evaporator that is heading to Sweden is completely handled by Silvasti, including road transports in Finland and the barge journey over the Baltic Sea from Mäntyluoto to Göteborg, from where the barge continues along inland waterways to Grums, located on the shore of lake Vänern.

The other evaporator was handed over to a freight forwarder, who will take care of the rest of the way to Uruguay from Port of Mäntyluoto.

The evaporators weigh in at 182 tonnes and 168 tonnes, respectively, with a height of 6,9 meters each. Due to the weight and height of the transports, the planning of the transports began already in July.
