Fleet Line Shipping Services (FLS) has been contracted to to plan and execute a delivery of four vessel mounted skids as breakbulk from India to Egypt. The transport included crossing four Indian states and freight to Egypt.

The company informed in its statement that each skid measured 16×3.5×5.2 metres, with weight coming in at 60 tones. FLS’ scope of work included transporting the skids from Haryana to Nhava Sheva, a journey totaling 1,700 kilometers. The company performed a detailed route study, a journey management plan as well as lifting method by FLS’ in-house engineers.

The company faced a number of challenges like road restrictions due to Covid-19 lockdown, as well as adverse weather conditions. Despite the hurdles, the trailer skids were towed to JNP port in 19 days. The skids were then loaded on Hapag-Lloyd’s vessel as breakbulk to its final destination port of Damietta in Egypt.
