The Zaandam-based offshore lifting equipment provider KenzFigee, and CMIC Ocean En-Tech (CMIC), a global product and service provider for the onshore, offshore oil and gas, offshore wind and hydrogen sectors, signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two companies will be exploring how to target the rapidly growing Chinese Offshore Wind market.

The agreement was virtually signed by the CEO of CMIC, Mr. Jiang Binghua, and the CEO of KenzFigee, Mr. Maikel Takken, on 20 June 2022.

The companies will continue to discuss how they can complement each other in the designing and supplying of offshore wind equipment to the Chinese market, which is currently the world’s largest, and fastest growing. Additionally, the companies may investigate partnering in the installation of large cranes and other such equipment.

The goal of this agreement is to combine strengths to fill an opportune supply gap, by providing specialised technology, manufacturing capabilities, and project financing. Indeed, there is a massive and urgent need for renewable energy products, including wind turbine installation vessels (WTIV) and service operation vessels (SOV) to be used by offshore wind farms in China.
