Cadeler secures Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III deals
Cadeler has entered into vessel reservation agreements with MFW Bałtyk II and MFW Bałtyk III. These two joint venture projects are owned 50 per cent each by Equinor and Polenergia. This marks the first contract between these parties. The estimated value of the contracts to be negotiated during the vessel reservation agreements is expected to be between €110-130 million. The operations are scheduled to start in 2027.
The Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 wind farm projects are located in the Baltic Sea, around 27 and 40 km away from the port of Łeba, respectively. These projects involve setting up 100 wind turbine generators (WTGs) in the Polish Baltic Sea. Cadeler will be using both an O-Class and a P-Class vessel, which showcases the company’s fleet depth, flexibility, and ability to adapt to client requirements.
The installation of WTGs is scheduled to start in 2027. Once these wind farms become operational, they are expected to produce a total capacity of 1440 MW, which will be sufficient to provide electricity to over two million households.
Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler, says, “We’re pleased to announce yet another contractual milestone in Poland. The Polish market offers great business potential for Cadeler and we’re proud to help our partners accelerate the transition towards sustainable energy for more than two million households. This also marks our first contract with Equinor and Polenergia, setting the stage for new successful future partnerships”.
