UHL Finesse delivers Liebherr MHC to West Africa Container Terminal

West Africa Container Terminal recently took delivery of high-tech Mobile Harbour Crane (MHC), enhancing service delivery at Onne terminal, effectively restating its position as the best equipped port terminal in Nigeria’s eastern ports.

Liebherr LM600 was delivered by one of United Heavy Lift’s F-900 Ecolifters, the UHL Finesse, bringing the total number of MHCs at WACT facility to five. The terminal also has 18 RTGs and several other cargo handling equipment including: reach stackers, terminal trucks and empty container handlers.

On ground to receive the new addition was WACTs’s managing director, Naved Zafar and other members of the terminal leadership team. WACT representatives were also accompanied by Onne Port Manager, Stanley Magaji Yitnoe and Customs Area Controller, Onne, Mohammed Auwal.

WACT’s leadership said, “the Onne terminal upgrade project enables sustainable success in executing our strategy – with the ultimate goal of providing world class service delivery at our terminal. adding one more crane will increase our yard capacity, improve vessel operations at the terminal and fast track the cargo delivery. This way we are able to keep up with the market demand and provide exceptional customer experience.”
