Danish pair ink their most comprehensive wind components handling deal
Global wind energy sector has grown at an incredible pace over recent decades and is still continuing on that path. Blue Water Shipping, as well as wind turbines manufacturer Vestas have been part of that puzzle for many years, and now the two Danish companies have signed their most comprehensive wind components handling deal to date.
Under the five year deal, Blue Water will handle Vestas’ wind turbine components at the Blue Water Terminals Esbjerg, Denmark and the Blue Water BREB Terminals in Cuxhaven, Germany. The agreement covers terminal handling of the heavy wind turbine components, stevedoring, storage and service for a five-year period on all Vestas’ components, which are shipped to and from all over the world via Esbjerg and Cuxhaven.
“We are proud of this vote of confidence from Vestas who has entrusted us with this important task. Blue Water has been involved from the early days of the wind industry, and our colleagues at the ports and terminals have extensive experience and are prepared to solve the tasks safely and efficiently while contributing to the green transition”, says Brian Sørensen, global category head, Wind and Port Service, Blue Water.
Blue Water focusing on safety and quality
Blue Water and especially its port service teams keep a keen focus on safety and quality and conduct continuous training and education. Consequently, the number of damages to goods and personnel is minimal, and Blue Water’s solutions within wind logistics meet the highest international requirements and standards, the company said in its statement.
“We are looking forward to continuing the good cooperation we already have with Blue Water. Security and quality are Vestas’ priority, and we are convinced that at Blue Water we will get the right solution, and we are looking forward to continuing and expanding the collaboration for a long time to come”, says Torben Andersen, head Transport Procurement, Vestas.
