HHLA handles a helicopter in Hamburg
Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (HHLA) recently took part in shipping a helicopter from Hamburg to Chile. The special cargo required coordination and cooperation with the owner Heliswiss International.
The logistics company said that the helicopter arrived at its Container Terminal Burchardkai. From there it was transported by a barge to the Container Terminal Altenwerder. At the terminal, it was loaded onto Hapag-Lloyd’s Montevideo Express.

There was a matter of 250 litres of residual fuel in the helicopter’s tanks to deal with. The fuel was subject to a special regulation of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, making proper handling all the more important.
Once it arrives at its destination, the helicopter sets off on an important mission as it is going to be used in the fight against forest fires.
