Blue Water completes FPSO delivery

PRESS RELEASE – From October 2020 to late January 2021, Blue Water completed three project cargo shipments consisting of 142 units of equipment for an FPSO. The cargo had to be moved from Italy to a shipyard in China.

The total weight of the cargo was 895 tonnes, with the heaviest units weighing 162 tonnes each. The project was executed in close cooperation with the local manufacturer in Italy, the client in China and Blue Water’s suppliers.

The scope of the contract included supervision of container stuffing at the manufacturer’s facilities, local road transport from various locations in Livorno and Massa, Italy to the loading ports Livorno and Marina di Carrara. Additionally, port handling, storage, loading on board the ocean vessel, sea freight and discharging in China were also Blue Water’s responsibility.

“It was very important that the cargo arrived in China within specific dates to meet the installation onboard the FPSO. However, finding the right vessel for the project was quite a challenge due to the increasing demand in the market over the past few months. But fortunately, we succeeded in delivering all items on time thanks to efficient teamwork between our chartering desk in Esbjerg and our project teams in Italy and Singapore”, says Therkel Iversen, Project Manager, Project & Chartering, Blue Water Singapore.
