F.H. Bertling Logistics has recently been busy with a cargo of bespoke engineering machinery for an oil and gas project in Brega, Libya.

The company’s UK logistics team handled a total of 133 tonnes of machinery, with the heaviest cargo weighing about 29 tonnes. Bertling arranged for the cargo collection from Wales and transportation to Harwich Dock, UK, where the cargoes were lifted onto MAFI Trailers and then loaded onto the vessel to Brega.

The complex planning for this shipment until execution took about four months, as F.H. Bertling Logistics advised the client to reduce the height of the cargo in order for it to move via road, otherwise, this would have caused delays.

The project required a lot of coordination, lifting equipment knowledge and project expertise, with F.H. Bertling Logistics UK office chartering manager Paul Bunyard making sure all pieces fall into place.
