Norwegian short sea shipping company, Wilson has expanded its fleet with eleven general cargo vessels acquired from Arkon. The acquisition increased Wilson’s operated fleet to over 130 vessels with 110 of these vessels being owned by Wilson.

Several of the acquired vessels have been chartered on a time charter basis for a couple of years through a partnership with Arkon. Wilson informed that despite the purchase, the partnership with Arkon continues, only the ownership of the vessels has now been transferred.

In a strong market situation, it is important for Wilson to purchase and secure the tonnage on good and long-terms conditions. The company therefore considered the transaction favourable in the current market situation and it underpins Wilson’s long-term belief in the market.

The vessels that are joining the Wilson fleet are: Wilson Dublin, Wilson Davanger, Wilson Drammen, Wilson Drogheda, Wilson Dundee, Wilson Dunmore, Wilson Dusavik, Wilson Durness, Wilson Halsvik, Wilson Hanstholm and Wilson Horten.
