Logistics group Mallory Alexander begins dedicated project freight division

A dedicated heavy lift vessel moves reels for use in the oil and gas industry – Mallory Alexander has always handled project freight.

US-based logistics group Mallory Alexander has established a dedicated project cargo division. The new business team is headed by Michael Confessore, who has more than two decades of experience working at the project cargo divisions of Expeditors, Panalpina and Ocean cargo Line.

The new division will offer project and heavy-lift solutions to new and existing customers through Mallory Alexander’s global network. Services include complete global transportation and logistics planning utilizing all possible forms of transportation including heavy haul trucking, ocean transportation including ro/ro, air charters, barging, rail and crane, and rigging moves, the company states.

“Mallory Alexander has always handled project freight, but with this new department we will be able to provide our customers with dedicated solutions and support,” says Neely Mallory, the president of Mallory Alexander.

He added: “The addition of Michael to the Mallory Team brings the experience and contacts that will help us build a larger footprint in this unique market.”

Michael Confessore

Confessore has a background in engineering and brings 23 years of industry experience with him. He previously worked in senior management positions at the project division of other major logistics companies like Expeditors and Panalpina. Before that, he worked as general manager at Ocean cargo Line, where he was in charge of NVOCC and freight forwarding operations.

“I always like to build things from scratch, and making sure projects are done successfully is my forte, so I am grateful to Mallory Alexander for offering me the opportunity to lead their project cargo division. If it’s big and challenging, I can move it,” Confessore says.

Mallory Alexander’s project freight division has already signed contracts to move steel industry components from Korea and Italy to the US, and there are further breakbulk projects already in the works, the company states.
