UHL names DUO Shipping as exclusive agent for Turkey

United Heavy Lift (UHL) has signed an agreement with DUO Shipping to be the company’s exclusive commercial representative in Turkey. The contract takes immediate effect and will help the German project carrier to expand its services in Africa.

United Heavy Lift has been rapidly growing its fleet this year. CEO Lars Bonnesen says he expects the UHL 900 fleet to grow to 17 vessels next year, which means the company plans to add another eight of these vessels to its current fleet of nine F900 vessels.

In order to secure enough cargo for these vessels, UHL is setting up exclusive agency agreements in markets where the company wants to grow. In April, the company teamed up with Intermarine for the US market and now the carrier partners with DUO Shipping to grow its African presence as well. DUO Shipping will help to strengthen UHL’s presence towards Turkish customers.

“I am very pleased to be able to work with Daghan and Sertac again, they are old colleagues from Intermarine” comments Bonnesen. “Our Joint Sailing Agreement with Marguisa from the Mediterranean and Europe to West Africa is going very well and we will expand the service into East Africa. Sertac and Daghan have been working on that trade for many years and are a great addition to our team.”

“We are extremely happy and proud to be a part of such a strong organization. With UHL, we will provide a reliable and diversified service to our trusted customers. We look forward to the future with full confidence”, Daghan Engin, managing partner of DUO Shipping, adds.
