Peter Rondhuis to take over as CEO of Roll Group

PRESS RELEASE – Peter Rondhuis will take over as CEO of Roll Group per 1 January 2021. Peter Rondhuis succeeds Adriaan Aarts who is appointed to the supervisory board of Roll Group. Together with Martine Kok (CFO), Peter will form the board of Roll Group. Paul Könst, the current COO of the company, will leave the organization as part of a restructuring.

Peter Rondhuis joined Roll Group as Group CCO in 2019. Since 2000, Peter worked within the shipping industry and held several management positions within international companies of which a long period as Managing Director within a subsidiary of AP Moller Maersk. Martine Kok joined Roll Group this year and held CFO positions and general management roles of international companies such as TNT.

“After some years with headwinds and consequently restructuring the company, it is the right moment to hand over the helm and take a step back as we have taken the last necessary improvements. The supervisory board and shareholders are confident that the new management will bring the group to the next level”, comments Aarts.

Despite the challenging conditions, Roll Group expanded with an additional deck carrier “the Bigroll Biscay” last year. Additionally, Roll Group expanded its land activities and equipment in the Asia-Pacific region with offices in Singapore, Malaysia, South-Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, and China.

Peter Rondhuis comments: “Somewhat later than expected, we see that the market improves and that our order book is filling up rapidly for the years to come. Especially, mid-2021 onwards looks very promising. Within the last months, Roll Group has secured 2 factory to foundation orders whereby we take care of the sea and land transportation with our own vessels and land equipment. This concept takes out several shackles in the chain and will generate a more cost-efficient and flexible execution for our clients.”
