Jumbo-SAL-Alliance was recently contracted to deliver a fishing boat weighing 320 tons from Rijeka, Croatia to Alexandria, Egypt. The delivery was completed in cooperation with Liburnia Maritime, the Croatian heavy lift and project cargo logistics company.

Liburnia Maritime arranged the seafreight and fabrication of cradle, and also supervised the loading operations onboard the alliance’s heavy-lift vessel Anna (Type 116). The vessel, capable of lifting up to 900 tons with its two cranes, lifted the 320-ton fishing boat Golovik. The fishing vessel was built in 2009 by Kraljevica Shipyard, Croatia. The operation was completed mid-July with the heavy lift vessel Anna now heading to the Chinese port of Quingdao.

The delivery of the shipping vessel adds to a number of operations members of the Jumbo-SAL-Alliance completed over the previous period. To remind, the alliance recently loaded a submerged Q739 submarine in Toulon and shipped it to Brest where the vessel will be deconstructed by Navaleo, the French naval and industrial deconstruction specialist. That operation was completed by the alliance’s heavy lift vessel, Jumbo Kinetic.

SAL Heavy Lift also broke its personal record transporting a total of 168 wind turbine blades from China to Europe, onboard its semisubmersible vessel MV Sun Rise.
