Konecranes STS cranes capable of serving the world’s largest container vessels are massive structures capable of serving the vessels like the HMM Algeciras or the Maersk Triple-E class which have capacities of 24,000 TEU or more.

Georgia Ports Authority currently has 16 of these cranes in delivery and it takes a special vessel to move these structures from manufacturing to their destination. One such vessel is the BigLift Baffin. The vessel has a deck space of 5.250 square metres and has been used optimally for the shipment of four of these Neo-Panamax STS cranes.

The vessel loaded the massive cranes at the Nantong Wison Heavy Industries yard in Nantong, China. After loading four cranes, BigLift Baffin has set out on its sea voyage from China to Savannah, United States.

BigLift operates a fleet of four HTVs with a combined deck space of 20.500 square metres. BigLift Baffin and BigLift Barentsz are capable of transporting structures up to 16,000 mt a piece.
