Royal Van der Wees Group from Dordrecht has recently been tasked with transporting three tanks for Geldof, part of the Engicon Group. The three tanks had a total weight of 193 tons, one weighing 71 tons and the remaining two weighing 66 tons each.

Royal Van der Wees moved the tanks from the Katoen Natie terminal in Antwerp to Pernis, Rotterdam. The three tanks, each with unique specifications, were safely loaded and unloaded using specialist cranes.

The transport took place via the so-called “standing mast route”, where Royal Van der Wees Transporten, water transport division of Royal Van der Wees Group, used its expertise to transport this impressive load safely and efficiently over water.

The “standing mast route” is a challenging waterway specially designed for such large and complex cargoes. Thanks to the experience and skills of the team at Koninklijke Van der Wees Watertransporten, the transport of the tanks was carried out flawlessly, with all safety and environmental standards being strictly adhered to, the company said.

The collaboration between Koninklijke Van der Wees Watertransporten and Geldof Engicon NV also highlighted the strength of specialized transport and logistics solutions within the industry, according to Van der Wees.
