Heavy transport specialist Fagioli was contracted for the transport and shipping operation of a 230-ton rotor from the manufacturing area in Terni up to Shanghai Port in China.

Fagioli Project Logistics and Heavy Rail departments managed to organize the transport by involving several proprietary equipment and the shipment of the item, at Civitavecchia port, by chartering a dedicated heavy lift vessel. Fagioli’s dedicated staff of technicians directly provided all necessary to identify reliable solutions and arrange all necessary steps for this transport.

For the Heavy Road and Rail transport, Fagioli used its own 32-axle lines rail wagon. The rotor was transshipped onto a 16-axle lines SPMT with gantry lifting cranes.

Afterwards, the rotor was loaded onto the Heavy Lift vessel, ready for sea transport. According to Fagioli, this combination of activities enables the company to provide a “Total Supply Chain” concept that keeps coordination and responsibility in the hands of one company.
