Denzai secures its first job in Africa
Japan’s heavy lifting and engineered transport specialist, Denzai K.K. has secured the first job of its kind on the African continent. The company said its unit, DENZAI International Projects secured a job in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
The project was awarded to Daewoo E&C Nigeria, a Daewoo Engineering & Construction company, by Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL). Under the contract Denzai Group will provide technical planning for the project, dispatch crane operators and lease a 1350-ton crawler crane, LR11350, to be used for plant construction.
“We, the Denzai Group, will be installing a 1350-ton crawler crane – LR11350 for the construction of a fertiliser plant in Nigeria, helping to improve the efficiency of the project,” Kohki Uemura, CEO, DENZAI K.K. said. “While Africa is a region of accelerated economic growth, even relatively rich countries like Nigeria still face food problems and many people suffer from hunger. Through this project, we hope to help improve the food situation.”
