Rhenus Logistics buys UK-based PSL Group

Rhenus Logistics has acquired 100% ownership of The PSL Group, a European express specialist based in the UK. Rhenus says the takeover will open up new opportunities, services, and expertise to the customers of both businesses.

The acquisition adds a Scandinavian service to Rhenus’ network through the SkanTrans-PSL brand. The PSL Group has a history dating back over 35 years and currently operates across seven locations in the UK, including a head office in Maldon, Essex.

The PSL Group’s established services, such as the Scandinavian services through The SkanTrans-PSL brand, seamlessly complement the current Rhenus network, the company states. Like Rhenus, PSL also has a dedicated project cargo team delivering large, heavy and high-value goods all around the UK and the world.

Rhenus expects that the synergies between the companies will bring an increase in freight volumes.
