King Ocean Gulf Alliance (KOGA Shipping) has secured a multi-year charter deal for a heavy-lift multipurpose vessel. The company has secured the services of HR Revolution with delivery scheduled for April/May.

The addition of the new vessel with two 250 ton cranes and a combined lifting capacity of 500 tons, is in line with the company’s ambition to expand the number of voyages and trading areas beyond its traditional Americas with lines to Asia and Europe.

HR Revolution is also familiar with trading in KOGA’s traditional region as it has been serving another Americas-focused company Intermarine, under the name of Industrial Revolution on a five-year charter. The vessel was initially built by Volharding Shipyards, now known as TB Shipyards Harlingen.

In 2016, the vessel that was acquired by the Hamburg-based Hammonia Reederei, has undergone a retrofit which included an optimised bulbous bow, rudder optimisation, high-performance hull coating, and trim and ballast optimisation.
