Global logistics specialist, GEODIS, has opted for a familiar face in Xavier Avrard, appointing him as the Chief Strategy Officer. Avrard will also occupy a seat on the group’s management board, under the chairmanship of Marie-Christine Lombard, Chief Executive Officer of GEODIS.

Xavier Avrard has been a part of GEODIS since 2014, starting as the Group Controller. He played a significant role in acquiring OHL in 2015 and was promoted to Managing Director for Projects Logistics, initially responsible for the African region and later expanding his responsibilities to cover WEMEA. From January 2023, Xavier has been responsible for the strategic development of the Europe region, with a focus on integrating trans-o-flex, a recently acquired company by GEODIS. Since July 1, he has been leading the newly-formed Group Strategy Department, overseeing the corporation’s strategic direction, mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, and monitoring of the Group’s strategic investments and developments.

Before joining GEODIS, Xavier Avrard held positions as financial controller and Chief Financial Officer with a number of major international groups.
