Gruber Logistics is on a roll, and their latest move sees them inaugurate a brand new hub within the Quadrante Europa Interport in Verona. This significant investment underscores the company’s impressive growth trajectory, particularly in recent years.

Pre-pandemic, Gruber Logistics boasted a turnover of around €360 million. Since then, the company has witnessed a doubling of that figure, driven by a combination of strong organic growth and strategic acquisitions like the high-profile integration of German powerhouse Universal Transport into the Gruber Logistics Group.

Strengthening presence in a key European hub

This new Verona hub represents a major leap forward for Gruber Logistics. The strategically chosen location positions the company right in the heart of one of Europe’s most critical freight traffic hubs. Building on their established and successful 40-year presence in Verona, Gruber Logistics is further solidifying its commitment to the region with this multi-million euro investment.

Equipped for efficiency and expansion

The state-of-the-art hub boasts an impressive 70 loading docks, designed to facilitate efficient cargo handling. Additionally, Gruber Logistics anticipates welcoming up to 100 new employees by year’s end, further bolstering their operational capacity within the new facility. With daily departures scheduled throughout Europe, the Verona hub is poised to play a vital role in Gruber Logistics’ future expansion plans.

“Verona has long been a crucial hub for our operations, and the opening of this hub underlines our commitment to serving customers efficiently and reliably by simplifying their operations,” said Christian Gruber, President of Gruber Logistics. “This investment allows us to further consolidate our position in the logistics, international and national distribution and intermodal transport sectors.”

The Verona hub will therefore become a fundamental point of reference for Gruber Logistics, helping to optimise logistics operations “our added value on the market is the ability to offer integrated solutions to our customers. This can be seen primarily from infrastructural interventions. Verona is a multi-service hub in which logistics, national and international distribution, complete and intermodal transport activities are synergistic with each other,” explains Marcello Corazzola, Board Member and Managing Director.

The President of Consorzio ZAI, Matteo Gasparato, comments thus, “We are proud to welcome Gruber Logistics to the Interporto Quadrante Europa in Verona. The establishment of such a prestigious company is a tangible sign of its strength and attractiveness of our interport as a reference logistics hub. Gruber’s decision to establish itself here demonstrates the constant commitment of the Verona interport in providing high-quality services and cutting-edge infrastructure can contribute significantly to the economic and logistical development of our territory.”

Long-standing collaboration

The partnership between Gruber Logistics and Interporto Quadrante Europa transcends the typical client-service provider relationship. This longstanding collaboration extends to jointly promoting critical industry advancements like digitalization and sustainability. Notably, their combined efforts include participation in research and innovation projects co-funded by the European Commission.

Building on their existing digital cooperation project to foster intermodality, both entities are brimming with future initiatives. These include exploring the application of artificial intelligence solutions for logistics flow management and the implementation of digital twins for infrastructure management. This forward-thinking partnership positions them at the forefront of shaping the future of logistics.
