DHL Global Forwarding, Industrial Projects division has joined Esgian Shipping, the Oslo-based provider of analysis and benchmarking services of global shipping segments. DHL is said to have signed up for both RoRo and MPP services of Esgian.

“In an increasingly dynamic and complex world, DHL seeks to offer our clients unparalleled service in moving complex project cargos around the world. As each client’s need is different, we need to make sure to have the necessary tools at our disposal to meet the same. This is where the Esgian Shipping Suites for RoRo and MPP become very valuable,” says Torben Waalkes, VP and Global Head of Marine Chartering in DHL Industrial Projects.

He further added that these innovative tools give DHL unbiased insight into service level and identification of tonnage globally across both segments. “Moreover, as the visibility of supply chain emissions continues to increase in importance, we can benchmark vessels and operators independently by using the Esgian tools. In essence – it is all about having the right information at the right time so our clients can get the best possible transportation solution globally. Esgian has come a long way in just a year and we’re excited to follow and support their development in the time ahead,” Waalkes said.

Earlier this year, Esgian partnered with Toepfer Transport to provide insights for the upcoming multipurpose (MPP) and general cargo segment.
