Esgian, the Oslo-based provider of analysis and benchmarking services of global shipping segments, has partnered with the Hamburg-based shipbroker Toepfer Transport. The partnership will enable Esgian to provide insights for the upcoming multipurpose (MPP) and general cargo segment.

“We are very excited to have Toepfer onboard as partner for the highly dynamic and complex MPP segment. With their wealth of experience, we are certain that our innovative software will meet the requirements of the industry – today and tomorrow,” says Stian Omli, VP Shipping in Esgian.

“We are impressed about Esgian’s innovative approach with a focus on sustainable shipping. The unique abilities of this new tool to provide geographical and emission analysis will enhance our capabilities to analyse the fleet utilisation,” adds Yorck Niclas Prehm, Head of Research with Toepfer.

Esgian adds that just like its RoRo Suite in association with Hesnes Group, the MPP module seeks to increase commercial and sustainability transparency in the sector providing all stakeholders with unique insight.

The company noted in its statement that so far it has identified some 1,400+ vessels across 60 shipping lines covering over 3,000 individual ports globally.
