Heavy-lift and project cargo specialist deugro has kicked off its centenary celebration by reinforcing its focus on the green energy sector. The family-run business was founded in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in 1924, and has spent the recent years progressively expanding its attention towards new industries.

“The deugro team could not be more pleased to be marking the start of this milestone anniversary in a region that perfectly underscores the rapidly evolving and growing renewables sector,” said Steffen Behrens, President Middle East, deugro, during an event in Dubai.

“Doubling down on our efforts to support the booming global energy transition landscape is a natural next step in our evolution, and we are excited to be able to provide the technical skills, specialist assets, and wealth of experience to support the industry at this critical time,” Behrens said.

In addition to supporting several large solar farms across the Middle East, deugro recently completed transporting super heavy lift project cargo for the world’s largest green hydrogen plant located in Saudi Arabia, which will in the end power green ammonia production for export.

Thomas Wylie, Head of Global Strategic Projects, deugro, added, “We remain more committed than ever to driving innovation and supply chain and logistics excellence, capitalising on more than a century of expertise, all aimed at ensuring that our clients everywhere on the planet are able to exceed their growth ambitions and overcome the challenges of today.”
