Heavy lifting and engineered transport specialist, Sarens, has recently completed its first transport, crane and installation (TCI) job in India. Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions in Babra, India was the first client to book Sarens’ TCI package since the latter launched it in 2022 for the Indian market.

As part of the project, the team had to lift sixteen EN3.3MW 140mHH WTGs from the factory to the site storage yard, unload them at the storage yard, transport them to the site location, unload, and finally erect the WTGs.

The challenging project required precise planning and powerful equipment to provide a specialized TCI service package to the client.

Sany 800A was selected as the main crane as it can easily lift critical weight safely. Its high efficiency and ease of assembly made it the ideal crane for the project.

The equipment was taken to the site from Gujarat and assembled in approximately two days. According to the Sarens Associate VP Wind, Saravanan K, “The team faced various obstacles and challenges during WTG logistics but our operation experts handled it with proper risk assessment and mitigation plan.”

The WTG components including the tower shell, nacelle, hub, and blades were transported and erected. The nacelle weighing 90T was lifted at a height of 140 meters. More than 40 personnel were involved in the transportation phase, around seven personnel for off-loading, and fourteen personnel for lifting and installation, working day and night.

The 16 WTGs were transported and installed in five months.
