Hanwha Ocean Ship Yard has launched the Wind Maker, the first of Cadeler’s M-class newbuilds. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2025 and will head straight to its first assignment.

The vessel has already been booked to install wind turbines at the Greater Changhua offshore wind farm.

The vessel is an NG-16000X design by Gusto MSC and includes a 2,600-leg Leg Encircling Crane from Huisman. The Jack-up is designed to efficiently install turbines with capacities of up to 20 megawatts at water depths reaching up to 65 meters, with the flexibility to operate using either liquefied natural gas (LNG) or Ammonia as alternate fuels.

“Cadeler is proud to deliver yet another state-of-the-art wind installation vessel, capable of installing the next generation of turbines, to the demanding offshore wind market. The Partners’ success is of the utmost importance to Cadeler – not only for commercial viability but for our common efforts in pushing the envelope for what’s possible to achieve in offshore wind energy expansion. We’re ready to meet a fast-growing and dynamic market demand,” the company said in a brief social media post.

The vessel will now head to the next stage of its construction, forward to completing the commissioning, testing and sea trials.
