The Mumbai-based port and logistics specialist company, J M Baxi, has set a new record for the heaviest single equipment transport and load out in India.

The cargo in question was a jacket weighing 5,320 metric tonnes, measuring 81 metres in length, 35 metres in width, and 40 metres in height. It was moved by the Project Logistics Alliance member, using 248 axles, with 1984 tyres, operated with 10 power-pack units.

The client for this project was Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an Indian multinational in the sector of engineering, procurement and construction projects, manufacturing, defence and services. This project was executed at their Hazira campus in Gujarat, an Indian state on the country’s west coast.
