Fred. Olsen wins another offshore wind contract in Taiwan

PRESS RELEASE – CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering has awarded Fred. Olsen Windcarrier the transport and installation contract for the Changfang and Xidao wind farms (CFXD) in Taiwan. In total, the scope of the contract covers 62 MHI Vestas 9.5 MW wind turbines.

“We are extremely proud to win another transport and installation job in the growing Taiwanese offshore wind market. CFXD is an important project for us and will strengthen our position and commitment to the growing Taiwanese market and the APAC region in general”, says CCO Casper Toft of Fred. Olsen Windcarrier.

Fred. Olsen last year opened a regional office in Tawin to serve the market. In April, the Brave Tern will head to Taiwan to begin work on the Yunlin offshore wind farm.

The Changfang and Xidao wind farms are located 11-25km west of Taiwan. When finished, they will have a capacity of 600MW with a total of 62 V174-9,5MW turbines. Completion is expected in 2023.
