Boskalis to build its 100th offshore wind farm
Boskalis, a Dutch company specialised in maritime infrastructure construction and maintenance, will build an offshore wind farm off the United States coastline. As the company posted on LinkedIn, this will be the “100th offshore windfarm project that Boskalis has worked on over the past decade”.
Boskalis will take care of the transportation and installation of the turbine foundations and the power cables. To do this, two crane vessels, Bokalift 1 and 2, along with transport and cable-laying vessels will be deployed. The company has been contacted for further specifications.
Peter Berdowski, CEO at Boskalis, highlighted the relevant role that the company is playing. Over the past ten years, he said, “we were involved in the realization of almost half of all offshore wind farms worldwide, excluding the Chinese market”.

The Dutch company was founded in 1910 in Sliedrecht, not too far from Rotterdam. In 1978, the company was awarded the status of Koninklijk, or Royal. At the end of September, Rotterdam-based HAL Investment increased its ownership of Boskalis shares to 98.3 per cent.
