Construction of Windplan Blauw wind farm in the IJsselmeer was given the green light on 10 September 2022. The first Tower Base rings have been placed and have now been installed by Ballast Nedam.

This wind farm, an initiative of SwifterwinT and Vattenfall, is in the municipality of Dronten in Lelystad, where 74 wind turbines will be replaced by 61 larger turbines, with a capacity of over 335 MW. Of these, 37 will be located on land.

Each ring weighs 19 tons and is placed over 152 anchors. In addition, the anchors may only have two millimetres of clearance compared to the anchor holes in the Tower Base ring. The rings link the foundations with the windmills that will be installed later this year.
