Bertling secures 5-year extension contract with TengizChevroil

PRESS RELEASE – Bertling Logistics has secured another 5-year logistics services contract with TengizChevroil (TCO), managing the delivery of materials and equipment to the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan.

The Tengiz Oil Field is a giant reservoir deep beneath the western Kazakhstan steppe with a surface area of more than four times Paris and an oil column diameter of 1.6 kilometres. According to Chevron, which holds a 50% stake in TengizChevroil, Tengiz ranks as the world’s deepest producing super giant oil field and the largest single-trap producing reservoir in existence. Nearby is another giant reservoir called the Korolev Field.

In 2019, Chevron’s share of the net daily production amounted averaged 290,000 barrels of crude oil, 419 million cubic feet of natural gas and 21,000 barrels of natural gas liquids. The company is now working on an expansion project called the Future Growth Project-Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP-WPMP) which will raise production by another 260,000 barrels per day. First oil of the expansion project is planned for 2022.

In addition to the Tengiz deliveries, Bertling Logistics will also become the freight partner for this expansion project, making it by far the largest oil & gas project Bertling has ever been involved with.

Bertling was founded in Germany more than 155 years ago and has since then developed from a local chartering business to a global logistics and shipping company offering complex project freight forwarding. The company has a network of 45 offices and 750 employees.
