Rhenus Logistics handle transformers loading at c-port Küstenkanal Sedelsberg

Rhenus Logistics recently called on its colleagues from Rhenus Midgard Ems to manage the onloading operation of two transformers, weighing 286 tons each, at the c-port Küstenkanal Sedelsberg. 

In the logistics project, which is managed by Viktor Baumann, the pre-carriage was carried out by inland waterway vessel from Krefeld to Sedelsberg to the c-port Küstenkanal, where the transformers were handled by two cranes from Hüffermann Krandienst in a tandem lift onto an SPMT and the pier.

Thanks to extensive preliminary technical analyses and the excellent cooperation of all parties involved, the handling and interim storage of the two heavyweights went smoothly.

In the next step, the transformers will be transported by special truck to Garrel, where they will be used in a transformer station.
