Kübler acquires Daher Projects

German heavy transport provider Spedition Kübler has acquired Daher Projects, the heavy transport business of Daher in Germany. The acquisition will see Kübler grow by 40 employees at four locations and add over 100 special rail wagons with payloads of up to 454 tonnes to its fleet.

The former heavy-duty group of Deutsche Bahn has been “the epitome of the transport of large transformers for 100 years”, Kübler has in a statement. The business was sold to Daher in 2007 but now the French company wants to grow its core business of aircraft construction, aerospace equipment and system logistics, the decision was made to divest Daher Projects.

Kübler has been focusing on trimodal heavy transport solutions and this acquisition helps to further develop its “heavy goods by rail” division.

“We have consistently developed and expanded the rail sector in recent years. By integrating the transformer specialists from Daher Projects, our customers can access an even larger and therefore more flexible vehicle fleet”, comments Heinz Rößler, owner and managing director of Spedition Kübler.

Managing director Olaf Oldiges of Daher Projects said he is pleased to have found a partner where his employees “can contribute our many years of know-how.”

The companies are currently working out the integration of the company and Kübler says the integrated business will be fully available in the new year.
