Norwegian short sea shipping company, Wilson has completed the acquisition of eleven general cargo vessels acquired from Arkon at the start of the year.

To remind, the eleven vessels increased Wilson’s operated fleet to over 130 vessels with 110 of these vessels being owned by Wilson. Several of the acquired vessels have been chartered on a time charter basis for a couple of years through a partnership with Arkon.

To close the acquisition, Wilson has taken ownership on September 1 of Wilson Horten in Port of Police in Poland. “Our large fleet enables us to maximise the performance of each vessel and reap the benefits of being the largest shipowner within our segment in the European shipping environment,” Wilson noted in its statement.

Wilson Horten is 1998-built, 4270-dwt general cargo ship with double hull equipped for carriage of containers and strengthened for heavy cargo.

The vessels that joined the Wilson fleet are Wilson Dublin, Wilson Davanger, Wilson Drammen, Wilson Drogheda, Wilson Dundee, Wilson Dunmore, Wilson Dusavik, Wilson Durness, Wilson Halsvik, Wilson Hanstholm and Wilson Horten.
